With a compassionate heart and an insightful mind, I, Lisa, hold a Master's degree in Psychology from Chapman University and a profound dedication to fostering well-being within individuals and families. My approach is rooted in a strengths-based perspective, underpinned by a firm belief in the innate resilience of the human spirit. I am committed to providing a nurturing and safe environment where my clients feel supported and valued.
My journey in mental health has been diverse and rich with experience. As a Trainee Domestic Violence Therapist at the House of Ruth, I learned the delicate art of healing and empowerment. My tenure at the Pomona School District allowed me to extend therapeutic support to a young, vibrant student body from kindergarten through the twelfth grade. My role as a Mental Health Case Manager and Program Liaison at Gateways Hospital honed my skills in coordinating care and supervising dedicated staff caring for developmentally disabled individuals. My therapeutic expertise encompasses a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, complex trauma, fertility challenges, adoption intricacies, postpartum struggles, and parenting complexities, particularly with children who have developmental and medical disabilities. My practice is enriched by my Bachelor's background in Art and Art History from Whittier College, allowing me to integrate creative modalities like art therapy with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Family Systems, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition to my educational background, I am continuously expanding my professional toolkit with certifications and trainings in EMDR, CBT, TF-CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems, alongside specialized training in Domestic Violence. My philosophy is to meet you where you are and to collaborate on a journey toward where you aspire to be. Together, we will map out a path of healing and growth, tailored uniquely to you. Whether you are navigating personal challenges, family dynamics, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I am here to embark on this transformative journey with you. Let's create a space for healing, growth, and the realization of your fullest potential. |
