Karisa Quick, MA, APCC, PPS- Associate Therapist |
I have a passion for helping people in all stages of life heal and grow to become the best version of themselves. I take a cognitive behaviroal approach in my sessions centered around the theory that our behavior, thoughts, and feelings are all connected. Changing our behavior will change our feelings and thoughts. With that in mind, I want to help clients understand their feelings and how that affects their thoughts and behavior. People have the capacity to reach their full potential but may need assistance in utilizing techniques, coping strategies, changing maladaptive schemas, and setting and following through with goals. That's where our work together will align. I partner with my clients and value them for the unique, whole person that they are. I primarily work with children, teens, and young adults. I offer a safe, empathetic approach that is client-centered.

Nicole Paredes, MSW, LCSW- Licensed Therapist![]() The growth period between childhood and adulthood is a remarkable experience full of intersections of discovery, love, and often pain as we embark on a journey of finding our true authentic selves within the constraints of society. As a Licensed Therapist, I believe in reconnecting with the inner child within each of us and providing them with the nurturing they crave to yield deep healing and self acceptance.I truly believe we all hold the keys to unlock inner healing and growth. I hold therapeutic space, provide compassion, and guide my clients through the process of developing self-awareness and personal boundaries. Through my professional development, I have worked with diverse client populations throughout the lifespan of human development from young children to older adults. Via my experiences, training's, and education I have learned how traumatic experiences whether acute, chronic, or complex/relational can leave a wide range of imprints on the individual. The work of Bessel Van Der Kolk's, The Body Keeps the Score gives testament to the intrinsic mind/body connection. To address this phenomenon, I incorporate somatic healing including the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), grounding, and resourcing technique to help promote emotional regulation and self-soothing. I have a passion to empower others to find the tools to generate holistic growth, positive change, and the freedom to allow their beautiful inner light to shine.

![]() I know that when life presents with difficult situations, we need someone to meet us where we are at and provide us with support and unconditional positive regard. As a client centered, strength based therapist, that is what I do. I am skilled in working with clients who have experienced trauma and are trying to fill that void inside with something outside of themselves. I work with substance abuse and addictions, eating disorders, codependency and co-occurring chronic medical issues. I combine my own personal history of overcoming life difficulties along with evidenced based therapeutic modalities in order to help my clients heal. I see the therapeutic process as collaborative. Authenticity, exploration, and unconditional acceptance create an environment where discovery, healing, and wholeness can flourish. As a therapist, my role is to create a safe space where you can look at your unfiltered self, discover your strengths, uncover areas in need of healing, and take steps toward wholeness. I use multiple therapeutic approaches, taking into account an individual's values, strengths, culture, spirituality, and life experiences. Being an Asian-American immigrant in an interracial marriage, and a mother of biracial children, I have learned to connect with individuals from a wide variety of cultures, life stages, and experiences. As a current intern, I aspire to understand the true meaning of helping others. I believe that I must provide health and wellness at an expert level. My goal throughout this journey is to find myself and better comprehend what it means to be a successful clinical social worker and how this can expand my knowledge to much greater things. What has created my interest in the social work career path was my extensive research on children who have incarcerated parents and the effects it has on their health. This has guided me to further my interest and obtain expert education in social work. With this internship, I plan to breach all aspects of what this agency has to provide. My end-all goal is to better my knowledge and to create a better community overall. |

![]() All of us have had a different outcome in life, whether or not it's been a positive experience or negative, ultimately our growth comes from the perspective we develop in-between. My name is Rosa Barraza and I use the following practices in my therapy: cognitive processing therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness. My practices have had a major impact on my clients and myself. These practices have worked on the majority of clients I’ve had in the past and that I currently treat. Clients have come out being more positive, goal oriented, gain confidence, learn differences between healthy and unhealthy self-talk, change in perspective, have their self-esteem grow, and finding ways to be productive in society while implementing skills to work through emotional and angry outburst. My goal as your therapist is to support and teach you to be a healthier version of yourself. You will be able to see and feel yourself growing as a person throughout therapy.
I wanted to become a therapist because of my own experiences and ever since I was little, I wanted to help people, as I have learned how important healthy relationships are in our growth journey. I found being a therapist and social worker I can help people in various ways within our micro, mezzo, and macro environments. I currently work full time with veterans who have served in the military. I left my position as a therapist with the County of San Bernardino working with youth and adolescents. Working with children who are in the system, either through CPS or Probation, impacted my personal life so much that I also decided to become a foster parent and provide forever homes to children within the system. Missing the therapeutic growth working with children led me to work for Norina’s practice, as I enjoy working with children and would like to continue working with children as long as I can! |
