As a therapist, I believe it is my privilege and honor to join you on your journey toward healing, growth, and restoration. Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, obsessions and compulsions, relationship or identity struggles, or other mental health challenges, my role is to provide a safe space that allows you to gain insight, growth, and skill by meeting you where you are at. I believe healing starts when you feel heard, for it is in that space that we join in authentically collaborating to create personally meaningful goals and changes which respect your values, identity, cultural, and spiritual uniqueness. I am passionate about providing therapeutic strategies and interventions which are evidence-based, practical, concrete, and uniquely tailored toward the needs and life stages of children, adolescents, and adults. It is my deep desire to empower you so that you can recognize what is needed to make positive changes in your life by addressing the negative thought and behavioral patterns that are often associated with cycles of emotional pain and distress.
I believe that my unique blend of experiences as a university educator in child, adolescent, and adult psychology, as a mother of four adult children, and as a therapist with experience in faith-based counseling have honed my ability to provide scientifically meaningful knowledge, understanding, and sensitivity that will help you gain clarity to confidently develop the skills and insight needed for growth. I believe that part of that confidence is knowing that you are not alone. As a therapist who has suffered significant trauma, hurt, and loss, I know the pain that accompanies life’s hardships and trials. My clients have often told me they finally have hope because “I get it.” And while I can never know what it is truly like to walk in your shoes, I can empathize with you, be present with you, guide you, and collaborate with you on your road to recovery. As you consider scheduling a session, know that I am committed to treating you with dignity, compassion, and respect. Wherever your journey takes you, may this be a day forward toward health, new beginnings, and healing |
